What the thank-you is

If a business you nominate joins a Partner Team, pays, and stays 90 days, Marvin & Gary gives to a local cause in your name. It is optional. You turn it on by checking the box on the nomination form.

Who can get one

• You must be 18 or older.
• You cannot be the owner of the business you nominate, or a member of the owner's family.

One per business

Only one thank-you is given for each business, however many people nominate it. It goes to the first person who nominated that business.

When it happens

We give only after the business pays and stays 90 days. If it does not join, or it leaves sooner, nothing is given.

The cause

You choose from these causes on the form:

• Hindman Settlement School (Hindman)
• God’s Pantry Food Bank (Eastern Kentucky)
• Foundation for Appalachian Kentucky (Hazard)
• Appalshop (Whitesburg)

How much

We set the amount of each gift, and it is the same for every thank-you. We may limit how many gifts we give in a quarter. We don’t list amounts on this site.

A note from Nick

Nick may also send you a handwritten thank-you note. It comes from Nick, never from the business.

Your privacy

The business is never told who nominated it. Read more on our privacy page.

If we see abuse

We may hold back or cancel a thank-you if we see abuse. That means fake or duplicate nominations, nominating your own business, or nominations by the owner or the owner's family.

To opt out or ask a question, call 502-509-6892. We may change these terms. The version you agreed to is recorded with your nomination.
